Holtzman Vogel Grows Political Law and State Attorneys General Practices with Addition of David P. Johnson

Holtzman Vogel, a nationally recognized law firm specializing in political law, regulatory matters, and high-profile litigation, announced today that David Johnson has joined the firm as Partner in its Washington D.C. office.

Johnson focuses his practice on political and election law regulatory compliance, appellate law, and state attorneys general investigations and litigation. He previously served as Policy Director and General Counsel to the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA), where he worked closely with Republican attorneys general and leading conservative organizations to develop and advance key policies.

“David brings deep expertise in political and regulatory law, along with a strong background of advising high-level government leaders and organizations,” said Jill Holtzman Vogel, firm founder and Managing Partner. “His arrival reflects our firm’s continued growth across key markets and practice areas to match increasing demand from our clients.”

Before joining RAGA, Johnson also held key roles in his home state of Indiana at the state and local levels including Senior Counsel to the Office of the Indiana Attorney General. He also worked with Governor Mike Pence as Deputy General Counsel and Policy Director, in which he guided policy on gaming issues and provided strategic counsel on litigation, policy, crisis communications and legislation strategy.

Johnson joins Holtzman Vogel’s rapidly growing team, contributing to a wave of top-tier talent added across the firm’s offices nationwide this year. His experience will greatly contribute to Holtzman Vogel’s recently promoted State Attorneys General Practice Group.

Johnson earned his J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and his B.A. from Wabash College.
