Susan L. Greene is a partner at Holtzman Vogel, where she focuses her practice on complex civil rights and public interest litigation, including anti-discrimination and constitutional law matters, anti-terrorism litigation, and election law and political advocacy.
Susan has represented clients in high-profile federal civil rights matters, including a lawsuit on behalf of Columbia University students alleging Title VI violations arising from campus antisemitism. She has filed suit against the Palestinian Authority and Palestine Liberation Organization over terror-financing programs, and filed an amicus brief on behalf of former U.S. Attorneys General and senior national security officials challenging UNRWA immunity. She has also litigated First Amendment election law challenges to state campaign finance regulations.
A prolific commentator on the intersection of law, civil rights, and national security, Susan has written and spoken extensively on antisemitism in higher education, the legal framework governing DEI programs at universities, and the application of international law in terrorism and accountability contexts.
Before joining the firm, Susan was a law professor, teaching Professional Responsibility, Ethics, Remedies, and Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research, among other subjects. She has published scholarship on topics ranging from social media and workplace discrimination to elder law and legal writing, and has served in editorial roles for multiple legal journals.
Earlier in her career, Susan was a litigation attorney at a top New York law firm. She clerked for the Honorable William C. Conner of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, worked in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, and was awarded a Skadden Public Interest Law Fellowship.
